About Us

Our Story...

Years ago, when my son was young, I noticed that I was missing his daytime field trips and school activities. There was no flex time back then so my limited days off were used for his doctor's appointments or trips to the dentist. One day I decided that I needed a more flexible work schedule. I vowed not to miss any other activities. I started thinking about what I could do to generate an income. That's when I remembered that...

Crystal's Mom
My Mom circa 1977

I love to clean! When I was young, my Mom would make cleaning fun. On Saturday mornings she would crank up the music.  The smell of fresh lilac, breakfast, and murphy’s oil soap would mix in the air. We would sing and mimic dance moves from The Supremes or Jackson 5 while we cleaned our home. Even now, when I hear Marvin Gaye & Tammy Terrell, I smile.

Initially, I started cleaning PT for a friend's company. I was able to attend my son's field trips, volunteer, and be his Cub Scout Mom.  I realized that I needed more consistency, so I decided to create my own company. I spent hours in the Worthington library reading marketing books. I created brochures at the Kinkos next door. I developed a cold calling script and kept calling companies until I landed a contract.

Cleaning Mirror
I have a great idea

In Nov. 1997, Corporate Cleaning was born. My very first client was Olentangy Commons near Bethel Rd. It had 800+ units and a 2 story clubhouse on 26 acres. Back then we had one car. I would take our son to school, my husband to work, clean vacant apartments then - pick up our son and pick up my husband. We would repeat this schedule M- F. My husband worked 70 hours a week as a store manager but he would help on evenings, weekends, and his days off. We learned to clean quickly, efficiently, and consistently. Many nights, we tucked our son into a sleeping bag on the floor of a vacant unit and cleaned throughout the night.

The Dynamic Duo

Eventually 1 property became 3, then 4, and more. In Jan. 2000, our accountant advised my husband, Gene, to quit his store manager position and work full-time in Corporate Cleaning.  The dynamic duo was formed. It took one full year to make the transition and we have not looked back.

In 2001, we were invited to clean our 1st multi-family housing construction project - Easton Commons. Our small crew became larger year after year. We currently employ 25+ people. Our team is family based, multi-generational, and full of champions. Our cleaning champions go through the CCI Process. It is a multi-step S.O.P. (Standard Operating Procedures) training to ensure consistency, GBAC cleaning compliance, and excellent customer service. We are the best at what we do!
